RIAMAR promotes the continuous innovation of its products through the accumulated experience of more than 50 years in participating in powerboat competitions, combined with scientific and technological research in partnership with SCTN Institutions.
The design of STEPS hulls has been a subject of Research and Development, both internationally and within RIAMAR, with the aim of increasing the performance of the hulls and their energy efficiency.
The development of STEPS hulls requires complex studies and scientific research derived from the aeronautical industry, so that the textual disruptions in the hulls are compatible with the size, shape and geometry of the hulls, each case being different.
The absence of these studies, through Finite Element Method (FEM) Simulation of laminar and turbulent flows, can lead to unstable hulls with lower performance compared to conventional ones, so this complex and iterative optimization process is essential. For an SME, such as Nautav, Lda, through the RIAMAR brand, only a partnership with academia allows access to these technologies derived from the Aerospace Industry.
